The Common App In-Person
Register Here!
The Common Application may be used by more than 1,000 colleges, but that doesn't mean completing it is straightforward.
With dozens of questions, activities, essays, recommendations, and school-specific requirements, it's easy for students to feel overwhelmed—or accidentally overlook something important.
This practical session will walk families through the application so they can approach it with confidence.
We'll look at:
- The major sections of the Common App and what belongs where
- How to approach the Activities section strategically
- What the Additional Information section is—and when students should use it
- How to approach teacher and counselor recommendations
- How to stay organized when applying to multiple colleges
- Common mistakes that can create unnecessary problems at submission time
By the end, you'll have a clearer picture of what the application actually requires, how the pieces fit together, and how to make the process much more manageable.
