Mike Allen "The Devil Made Me Do It Murder Case" In-Person
In 1981, the first murder in Brookfield history occurred, a stabbing death in the parking lot of a dog kennel. This 40-year-old case has continued to generate headlines, because it’s the only time in U.S. legal history that demonic possession was entered as a reason for a not guilty plea. Amidst claims of exorcisms conducted at the local Catholic Church and remarkably unsettling demonic fits in a local home, the ultimate claim was that it was the devil who committed the stabbing. What's the truth? Mike Allen covered the case and is one of the interviewees in the 2023 Netflix documentary, The Devil on Trial. Come and hear the story for yourself.
